Sisi receives Assoumani on Sunday to discuss Egypt-Comoros ties, regional issues

CAIRO – 4 May 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will meet today with President of Comoros Azali Assoumani.

The meeting will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional and continental issues of mutual interest, said the Egyptian presidential spokesman in a statement.

Egypt and Comoros maintain cooperation in various key areas, including education, health and capacity building, while coordinating on developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.

He conveyed the Comoros’ desire to deepen cooperation with Egypt across various sectors and to benefit from Egypt’s experience in supporting national development efforts.

In April, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Comoros Mohamed Mbaye expressed his country’s desire to deepen cooperation with Egypt across various sectors and to benefit from Egypt’s experience in supporting national development efforts.

Egypt has stressed beefing up trade exchange and economic cooperation with African countries.

In phone calls with a group of African counterparts, including that of Comoros, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty underscored the Egyptian companies’ keenness to enhance support to African countries’ development efforts in various domains.
