CAIRO - 22 April 2025: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population revealed indicators for the implementation of basic health care and family development services.

The ministry noted a decline in the total fertility rate from 2.85 in 2021 to 2.54 in 2023. The number of women receiving reproductive health services reached 3.8 million last year, according to the ministry's figures.

Dr. Hossam Abbas, Head of the Population Sector, noted that a variety of long-acting methods are available, providing women with diverse and effective long-term options.

He said, "By expanding access to these essential services, we enable individuals and couples to maintain their reproductive health, which contributes to improving maternal and child health and overall well-being."
