CAIRO – 20 April 2025: Medical sources report that at least 56 Palestinians, including women and children, have died and dozens more have been injured since Saturday morning due to Israeli strikes on various locations across Gaza.
Palestine's official news agency WAFA stated on Sunday that the body of a woman was recovered following Israeli shelling of a tent sheltering displaced individuals in the Al-Mawasi area, designated as a “safe-zone” by Israeli forces in southern Gaza.
In the Nuseirat refugee camp, a man named Ismail Darwish succumbed to injuries sustained when his family home was struck last night.
Nine others were killed in the camp due to Israeli airstrikes on a house belonging to the Darwish family.
Later today, WAFA reported the deaths of seven individuals from Israeli bombardments in Gaza City and Khan Younis.
This included two fatalities and several injuries from an Israeli drone attack targeting a group of farmers in Absan, Khan Younis.
Additionally, Waseem Attia Abu Mousa was killed in Israeli shelling in Al-Mawasi, while a drone strike on a gathering in Gaza City’s Al-Zaitoun neighborhood killed two more Palestinians.
On Saturday night, an Israeli attack in Nuseirat killed Ahmed Mahmoud Siyam, alongside a drone strike on a family home in Khan Younis that claimed the lives of Mahmoud Essam Al-Najjar and Abed Mohamed Al-Najjar.
The war in Gaza has so far killed over 51,200 Palestinians, including more than 1,800 fatalities since Israel resumed bombardment on 18 March, shattering a ceasefire with Hamas that persisted for two months.
According to the Gaza health ministry, the fatalities since the war's resumption include 683 men, 595 children, 308 women, and 105 elderly individuals.
Additionally, more than 2,000 women and children have been injured since 18 March.
