CAIRO – 19 April 2025: Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, will lead the Holy Resurrection (Easter) Mass tonight at St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbassiya, Cairo, on Saturday.

 

The celebration is expected to be attended by several ministers, senior officials, state figures, representatives from Al-Azhar.

 

Cars will not be allowed into the cathedral courtyard. Additionally, anyone experiencing even mild symptoms is kindly asked to refrain from attending, in consideration of everyone's health and safety. 

 

The cathedral doors will open on Good Friday at 7:00 AM; entry will not be permitted before this time. Access will be through Gate 1, facing Ramses Street.
