Egypt’s FM delivers letter from President Sisi to Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune

CAIRO – 17 April 2025: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty delivered a letter from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, addressing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

during meeting with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday, Minister Abdelatty praised the historical relations between the two brotherly countries, expressing his aspiration to push cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and maximize their common interests.

Minister Abdelatty also expressed his aspiration to hold the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint Higher Committee in Cairo this year, and to hold a business forum between the two sides, which would contribute to advancing Egyptian-Algerian cooperation in the economic and investment sectors.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also welcomed support for joint cooperation in the fields of development and expressed his willingness to support development projects in Algeria through Egyptian companies, given their extensive experience and competence.

Meanwhile, the meeting addressed key Arab issues, most notably the Palestinian cause.

Minister Abdelatt also reviewed Egypt's efforts to resume implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which would contribute to achieving calm and restoring access to humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also addressed the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction with Palestinians on their land, and future efforts to support the plan with international actors. The meeting also touched on developments in Libya and Sudan.

For his part, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune asked that his greetings be conveyed to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, praising the fraternal relations and historical ties between the two countries and peoples.
