CAIRO - 3 April 2025: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced it provided 312,756 medical services through mobile medical teams and convoys over the course of the last couple of days.

The ministry also said that it provided awareness-raising activities for 789,467 citizens through awareness and community outreach teams in all governorates of the republic, during the period from March 30 until today.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, indicated that these medical and awareness services are part of the ministry's plan for medical insurance for Eid al-Fitr (The Feast of Breaking the Fast).

He explained that the medical services provided included services from the "100 Healthy Lives" presidential initiative and medical convoys, which included specialties such as: dentistry, internal medicine, pediatrics, family planning, laboratory services, and a pharmacy for dispensing medications. Cases requiring surgical intervention were also referred to the nearest hospital to receive the necessary healthcare.

Abdel Ghaffar added that awareness and community outreach teams have been deployed in public parks, clubs, parks, around mosques and places of worship, and in gathering places and major squares across the governorate to raise awareness of healthy habits and proper nutrition. They also highlight the services and locations of presidential health initiatives and direct citizens to receive medical services.

Abdel Ghaffar confirmed that the Emergency and Crisis Room at the ministry will continue to meet around the clock to monitor progress throughout the holiday season, and monitor the implementation of the Eid al-Fitr medical insurance plan.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that ambulances are deployed throughout all governorates of the republic, on main roads and highways, and in public parks and gardens during Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

He also noted that 11 river ambulances are available to provide emergency medical services to citizens. He explained that preventive services will continue during the holidays, and that a strategic stockpile of preventive and therapeutic serums and vaccines will be available at the preventive room at all health affairs directorates in the governorates.

He further said that all preventive tasks will continue to be implemented by all relevant departments within the preventive medicine sector through teams (rapid response, preventive room, quarantine procedures, endemic disease control procedures, food control, and environmental health).

Abdel Ghaffar added that rapid deployment teams have been deployed throughout all governorates to provide support to any hospital in the governorate or neighboring governorates when necessary, for medical insurance and emergency support in the event of a crisis. He said that high-precision interventional medical services are provided for accident and illness cases at referral hospitals across the governorates.

Abdel Ghaffar continued saying that coordination is ongoing with the governorates' poison centers and the central room for emergency services 137, which operates 24 hours a day to provide medical advice, initial treatment for poisoning cases, and referral to the nearest hospital with beds and a poison center.

He stressed the availability of vaccine and serum stocks in all governorates, especially serums for scorpion, snake, and dog bites, in addition to the botulism serum for food poisoning cases.
