CAIRO – 2 April 2025: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has urged the immediate resumption of the ceasefire in Gaza, warning of the escalating humanitarian crisis.

According to UNRWA, Israeli authorities have issued new forced displacement orders in Rafah, further exacerbating the suffering of civilians. The agency accused Israel of manipulating the fate and lives of Gaza’s residents, highlighting that at least 140,000 Palestinians have been displaced since the fighting resumed.

Amid an ongoing blockade, Gaza is facing relentless airstrikes and bombardment from all sides. Israeli forces continue to carry out hundreds of attacks, including artillery shelling and targeted assaults, resulting in mass civilian casualties. Entire residential blocks have been reduced to rubble as part of a widespread campaign of destruction.

The humanitarian situation remains dire, with thousands of victims still trapped under the debris due to the continued bombardment and deteriorating security conditions. The blockade has severely restricted the entry of fuel and urgently needed aid, deepening the catastrophic conditions in the besieged territory.
