CAIRO - 27 March 2025: Dr. Mohamed Ali Fahim, head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, said that today marks the peak of the early summer wave, with temperatures rising across the country without exception. Daytime temperatures will reach 35-36 degrees Celsius.
Fahim added that there will be a significant rise in nighttime temperatures, ranging from 15-20 degrees Celsius, and a significant temperature difference between night and day.
The rise in temperature will be accompanied by hot, dust-raising southerly and southwesterly winds, ranging from light to moderate.
Forecasts indicate that the northwestern coasts will witness a drop in temperatures tomorrow, Friday, due to the influence of moderate air masses, whose impact will extend to the rest of the country next Saturday.
Temperatures will drop by about 6 degrees, with highs in Cairo ranging between 26 and 27 degrees Celsius.
It is noteworthy that the vernal equinox occurred last Thursday, officially announcing the beginning of spring on March 20th. It lasts for 92 days, 17 hours and 35 minutes, as the sun's rays are perpendicular to the equator, so the amount of solar radiation falling on both hemispheres of the Earth (the northern and southern) is equal, resulting in equal number of day and night hours, each of which is approximately 12 hours.
