CAIRO - 25 March 2025: The Palestinian cause has long been at the heart of Egypt’s national and regional security, with the country’s stance remaining steadfast for over three-quarters of a century. Egypt has continuously acted as a barrier against global powers seeking to redraw the Middle East’s map, advocating for peace, stability, and security in the region despite ongoing turmoil.
Dr. Tarek El-Bardisi, an expert in international relations, emphasized that Egypt has shouldered the responsibility of supporting the Palestinian cause, viewing it as central to its own national security. He reiterated that Egypt’s position remains firm in rejecting the forced displacement of Palestinians, warning that such actions could lead to the liquidation of their cause. Despite facing economic challenges and external pressures, Egypt has remained resolute.
He highlighted that during these critical times, the Egyptian people have shown unwavering support for their leadership, backing the government’s firm stance against any attempts to displace Palestinians. He stressed that rejecting displacement is a unified decision by the state, leadership, and people—one that is non-negotiable.
Dr. Mohamed Abou El-Ala, head of the Arab Democratic Nasserist Party, fully endorsed Egypt’s stance on the Palestinian issue and its ongoing efforts to prevent the erasure of the Palestinian cause. He praised Egypt’s leadership in uniting the Arab world and ensuring that the Palestinian issue remains at the forefront of global discussions.
He reaffirmed the importance of Arab solidarity in rejecting any attempts to forcibly relocate Palestinians, stressing that such moves align with Israel’s long-term strategy to alter the demographics of Palestinian territories. Abou El-Ala called on the international community to take decisive action against Israeli aggression, describing the ongoing attacks on Gaza as war crimes that must be addressed.
Senator Essam Hilal, Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee in the Egyptian Senate, underscored that Egypt’s stance against the forced displacement of Palestinians has been clear from the outset. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has repeatedly stated Egypt’s refusal to accept any plans that aim to displace Palestinians and dismantle their cause. This firm position was evident in Egypt’s early response to the Gaza war, as well as its leadership in post-conflict reconstruction and de-escalation efforts.
Hilal emphasized the importance of Arab cooperation in these critical times, noting that Egyptian and Arab diplomatic efforts have successfully brought the Palestinian issue to the forefront of international attention. He also dismissed misinformation campaigns that seek to undermine Egypt’s role in stabilizing the region, affirming that the government has consistently responded to false narratives with transparency and official statements.
Major General Ibrahim El-Masry, Deputy Chairman of the Defense and National Security Committee in Parliament, reaffirmed that Egypt remains the cornerstone of stability in the Middle East. He described Egypt as the “balance wheel” of the region, stressing that its efforts represent the last hope for those seeking peace, security, and development in the Middle East.
He condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression against Gaza, calling it a blatant disregard for human rights that the international community has failed to address. He reiterated that Egypt’s position on Palestinian displacement has been declared multiple times and remains unchanged, rejecting any attempts to forcibly remove Palestinians from their land.
El-Masry urged the international community to take responsibility in ending injustice and working toward a just and lasting peace in the region. He also strongly opposed former US President Donald Trump’s previous suggestions of relocating Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan, reaffirming Egypt’s unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
