CAIRO - 21 March 2025:  Egypt has categorically and completely denied allegations circulated by some media outlets that it is ‘prepared to temporarily relocate half a million residents of Gaza to a city in North Sinai as part of Gaza reconstruction.’

The State Information Service (SIS) confirmed in a statement on Friday, that these allegations are false, and that they completely contradict Egypt's firm position announced since the first days of the war on Gaza in October 2023, of absolute and final rejection of any attempt to displace Palestinians, forcibly or voluntarily, to any place, especially to Egypt.

SIS emphasized that this firm and clear position is the basis for the plan presented by Egypt at the recent emergency Arab League summit in Cairo to the Gaza Strip reconstruction, without requiring a single Palestinian to leave his land, and which was unanimously approved by the summit.

On March 4, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi chaired the Extraordinary Arab Summit, held upon the request of Palestine in the New Administrative Capital to discuss developments of the Palestinian issue and means to support the Palestinian people.

In his opening speech President Sisi addressed the Arab leaders attending the Summit saying that: “today, we are united by a painful reality, in light of the enormous challenges facing our region, which are almost destroying regional security and stability, dissipating what remains of the foundations of Arab national security, threatening stable Arab countries, and seizing Arab lands from their owners, without any legal or religious basis.”

President Sisi said that Egypt, in cooperation with Palestine and international institutions, worked to formulate a ‘comprehensive and integrated plan for Gaza reconstruction without displacing Palestinians’, starting with urgent relief operations, leading to the process of rebuilding the Strip.

President Sisi called upon all countries to adopt the comprehensive plan and mobilize regional and international support for it.

Arab leaders praised Egypt’s plan for Gaza reconstruction announced by President Abdel Fattah al Sisi, they also confirmed during their speeches at the Extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo, their rejections for all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause or to displace Palestinian people.
