CAIRO – 16 March 2025: Ambassador to Jakarta Yasser al-Shimi met Friday Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono to hand him a copy of the Gaza reconstruction plan prepared by Egypt, and that was endorsed by the Extraordinary Arab Summit on March 4.
The ambassador commended Indonesia's support to the Palestinian people since the outbreak of war in October 2023. On his side, the Indonesian minister stressed his country's backing to the rights of the Palestinian people, outcomes of the latest Arab Summit, and Egypt's efforts aimed at stabilizing the ceasefire and continuation of negotiations. The minister equally underscored the importance of the facilitation of humanitarian aid delivery.
The meeting similarly tackled the outcomes of the Indonesia president's visit to Cairo in December, precisely steps targeted to expand economic cooperation and reciprocal investments.
