Egypt to export strawberry seedlings to Brazilian markets

CAIRO – 16 March 2025: Egypt has opened exportation of the Egyptian strawberry seedlings to the Brazilian markets, Head of the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine (CAPQ) Mohamed El-Mansi announced in a statement on Sunday.

 

El-Mansi said that opening markets for various Egyptian products aims to support the Egyptian economy and ensure the smooth flow of Egyptian agricultural exports to various countries around the world.

 

He explained that the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) had provided the CAPQ with the import requirements, which were studied and approved by the Agricultural Quarantine Authority. The Brazilian side immediately published the decision in the Official Brazilian Gazette on March 13, 2025, he continued.

 

Egypt's exports to Brazil saw an increase in 2023 to a record value of $674.4 million in the period between January to October 2024, compared to $408.2 million over the same period in 2023. This represents a 65.2 percent rise, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in mid-January  2025.
