CAIRO - 12 March 2025: Badr Abdel-Atti, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on Wednesday, March 12, during his visit to the Qatari capital, Doha.
The two sides discussed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen and enhance these ties across various sectors, especially through efforts to develop economic, commercial, and investment relations in line with the deep and strong ties between the two nations and their people.
Both ministers also followed up on the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab summit held in Cairo and the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, which focused on supporting the Palestinian people.
They discussed the ongoing efforts to secure a ceasefire agreement and the exchange of hostages in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of increasing the entry of humanitarian aid into the region and addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The meeting also covered ways to activate and implement the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza, as well as steps to mobilize the necessary funding, particularly in light of Egypt’s hosting of the international conference for reconstruction in collaboration with the United Nations, the Palestinian government, and donor countries and organizations.
