CAIRO - 11 March 2025: Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt's Prime Minister, expressed Egypt’s commitment to continuing its cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the largest network of humanitarian organizations, which includes over 190 national societies and 16 million volunteers worldwide.
In this context, the Prime Minister also expressed his hope for collaboration with the IFRC in the early recovery plan and the reconstruction of Gaza, which was approved during the recent Arab summit hosted in Cairo.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly went on to mention that despite the challenges imposed by Israel through the closure of border crossings to Gaza, Egypt managed to send over 7,000 truckloads of aid to Gaza from the start of the ceasefire agreement on January 19, 2025, up until March 2, 2025. It is important to note that 70% of these supplies came from Egypt since the beginning of the crisis in October 2023.
The Prime Minister emphasized that he looks forward to the involvement of the IFRC network of national societies in implementing the early recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza, with the early recovery phase expected to extend over the first six months of the plan.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister addressed the humanitarian situation in Syria, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, unity, security, and stability.
For her part, Ms. Kate Forbes, President of the IFRC, expressed her appreciation for the ongoing cooperation between the federation and the Egyptian government over the years.
Ms. Forbes highlighted Egypt's pivotal role in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza and noted that this issue had been discussed during her recent meeting with Dr. Badr Abdel-Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity.
