CAIRO – 8 March 2025: Entissar Amer, Egypt’s First Lady, emphasized her commitment to support “every woman seeking to achieve her dreams” as she marked International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 on Saturday.
Amer hosted a meeting today for a group of “inspiring Egyptian women who have set exemplary models in various fields.”
In a social media post, Amer commended the women she met, stating that everyone of them “reflects strength of will and giving, embodying the spirit of the Egyptian woman capable of achieving success and making an impact.”
The first lady underscored her belief that “every woman possesses immense potential” and expressed her unwavering support for their quest for success.
“I will always stand by every woman striving to achieve her dreams and build a brighter future for our nation,” she added.
International Women's Day is observed globally on 8 March, celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and calling for expediting gender equality.
The United Nations is celebrating this year’s IWD under the theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
Marking the day, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi earlier today extended his greetings to Egyptian women; “the symbol of giving, patience, and resourcefulness.”
In a social media post, the president commended Egyptian women as “an active partner in the journey of development, construction, and progress, and a pillar of strength for their country in all circumstances.”
Sisi reaffirmed the state's commitment to support, empower, and care for women, wishing a happy International Women's Day to “every inspiring, strong, and giving Egyptian woman.”
