CAIRO – 28 February 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi exchanged heartfelt congratulations with kings, presidents, and princes of Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, MENA reported.

In his messages to the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to bless them and their peoples with goodness, prosperity, and blessings during this special time.

The President emphasized that "the advent of the holy month reminds us of its noble values, which call us to solidarity, brotherhood, and cooperation as we face the challenges confronting our nations, working towards a future of security and stability for our Arab and Islamic peoples."

The Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa (the Fatwa House) will sight the crescent of the month of Ramadan in 1446, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar during which Muslims worldwide fast from dawn to the sunset.

The announcement of the new month will be declared after the prayer of Maghreb (the prayer that occurs just after sunset).

The sighting occurs after sunset on the 29th of the month of Shaban, the eighth month of the Islamic calendar. Upon sighting the crescent, the commencement of Ramadan is confirmed.

If the sighting falters and the crescent does not appear, the month of Shaban extends to its 30th day.

It's noteworthy that Ramadan typically begins approximately 10 to 14 days earlier each Gregorian calendar year compared to the previous year.
