CAIRO – 28 February 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has extended his warmest Ramadan greetings to the Egyptian Muslim community abroad in a congratulatory message conveyed by the nation’s embassies and consulates.
“I am pleased to send you my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the blessed month of Ramadan, from which we draw the noble values of compassion, cooperation, and solidarity,” Sisi said.
He wished the Muslim community abroad continued health and success, and for the nation further stability, progress, and prosperity.
In Egypt, Dar Al-Ifta, the central authority responsible for issuing religious fatwas, will sight the crescent moon for the holy month after sunset today.
According to astronomical calculations, Ramadan is expected to start in Egypt tonight, with the first day of fasting on Saturday, during which Muslims will fast from before dawn until sunset.
