CAIRO – 18 February 2025: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received, at his residence in the Spanish capital Madrid, Chairman of the Spanish company "Navantia," which operates in the field of shipbuilding and maintenance, as well as renewable energy systems, Ricardo Dominguez Garcia.
he meeting was held on the first day of the President’s official visit to the Kingdom of Spain.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the meeting reviewed the company's activities and potential areas of cooperation in the maritime industries, one of the company's fields of expertise.
In this regard, the Egyptian state's interest in localizing these industries and its orientation toward becoming a hub for maritime industries and services were emphasized.
The meeting focused on the Spanish company’s activities in the fields of renewable and clean energy, green hydrogen, and ammonia production.
The discussion highlighted the company’s interest in implementing projects in Egypt, given the country's significant resources and the major investment opportunities it offers in the energy sector, which position Egypt to become a global hub for the production and export of green hydrogen.
President El Sisi emphasized the state's commitment to providing all necessary facilitations and incentives to attract and enhance foreign companies' businesses and investment in Egypt, as well as removing any obstacles encountering investors.
The Chairman of the Spanish company “Navantia” affirmed the company's interest in investing in Egypt in its fields of operation. He commended the significant development of Egypt's infrastructure, which qualifies it to attract major industrial projects and global companies for investment.
