CAIRO – 8 February 2025: The Israeli army is set to fully withdraw from the Netzarim corridor, which runs through the northern Gaza Strip, early Sunday morning at 6:00 AM.

This move aligns with the terms of the current ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, which came into effect on 19 January and has seen five captive-prisoner swaps since then.

Reports indicate that the army has already redeployed from the corridor to outposts along the Strip's perimeter as part of the ongoing implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

The Netzarim corridor has been under Israeli control since the onset of the war, which has lasted for over 15 months, remaining closed to civilian foot and vehicle traffic throughout the war.

The Israeli withdrawal from the crossing started in late January, allowing hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians to begin returning to the northern part of the Strip.
