CAIRO – 7 February 2025: A 7-year-old girl was found tied up with ropes inside a plastic bag in Al-Arbaeen neighborhood in Suez Governorate, Friday, according to The National Council for Childhood and Motherhood.
The Council said in a statement that the Office for the Protection of Children, Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly at the Attorney General's Office had been notified of the incident by the General Administration for Child Rescue which received an urgent report from a woman stating that a 7-year-old girl had been found tied up with ropes inside a plastic bag and dumped in the Old Corniche area, with signs of torture on her body.
Dr. Sahar Al-Sonbaty, head of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, stated that the General Administration for Child Rescue received an urgent report from a woman stating that a 7-year-old girl had been found tied up with ropes inside a plastic bag and dumped in the Old Corniche area, with signs of torture on her body.
Head of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood immediately directed to take the necessary measures to provide all forms of support to the child, and to move to conduct a field examination after filing a report on the incident at the Arbaeen Police Station.
Al- Sonbaty also directed coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Social Solidarity Directorate in Suez Governorate to host the child in a foster home until she is presented to the investigating authorities, in order to ensure her safety and receive the necessary care.
The child was placed in a foster home, and Public Prosecution is conducting investigations.
