CAIRO – 6 February 2025: Get ready for a cold weekend ahead, especially if you're in Alexandria or along the North Coast.
While most areas, including Cairo, will enjoy some mild weather, Alexandria is gearing up for a wintry vibe with lower temperatures and a brisk chill in the air, thanks to some gusty winds.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) is predicting light to moderate rain in parts of the North Coast and northern Nile Delta on Friday and Saturday, so don’t forget your umbrella.
If you're thinking of hitting the water, be cautious! The EMA warns of rough conditions, with wind speeds reaching 40-60 km/h and waves potentially hitting heights of 3-4 meters. Stay safe and enjoy the weekend!
Thinking about a getaway? South Sinai is calling, especially Sharm El-Sheikh, which is a hotspot for winter vacationers worldwide. It’s all sunny and warm there, with highs around 19 degrees Celsius and lows of 15 on Friday.
On the other hand, Saint Catherine in Sinai is a whole different vibe—perfect for cold weather lovers. Nights are expected to be bone-chilling at 1 degrees (yes, you’ve read it right), while daytime temps will hover around 13 degrees.
Hurghada on the eastern coast is looking pretty pleasant too, with daytime temperatures reaching 20 degrees and cooler nights dropping to 13—ideal for holiday seekers.
If you're up for a day trip, Ain Sokhna could be your tranquil haven. Suez is expecting highs of 18 and lows of 10 on Friday.
Looking ahead to the week, Cairo and the Nile Delta will see average highs of 18 and lows of 10, while the North Coast anticipates highs of 17 and lows of 10.
In northern Upper Egypt, expect highs of around 19 and lows of 7, while southern Upper Egypt will bask in highs ranging from 21-24 with lows of 9-12.
