CAIRO – 1 February 2025: A tripartite meeting for Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) convoyed in Cairo on Saturday on the sidelines of the Arab Foreign Ministers of five MENA countries.

 

During the tripartite meeting, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty, his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, and PLO’s Secretary of the Executive Committee Hussein Al-Sheikh discuss developments in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

 

The three sides addressed ways to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and implement its three stages, ensure the access of humanitarian aid, and the return of the Palestinian Authority to administer the Gaza Strip.

 

Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar as well as the Arab League and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) have expressed rejection to the displacement of Palestinian people from their lands “under any circumstances or justifications.”

 

The foreign ministers of the five Arab nations met in Cairo on Saturday along with Hussein El Sheikh, Secretary of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Executive Committee, and Ahmed Abul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League to discuss the ceasefire in Gaza and affirm support to the Palestinian cause.

 

In a joint statement following their meeting, the seven parties expressed ongoing full support for the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land, adhering to their legitimate rights in accordance with international law.
