CAIRO – 24 January 2025: This Friday morning, the 56th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair welcomed the public with an atmosphere filled with excitement and joy.
The initial hours of the fair saw a remarkable turnout from diverse age groups, eager to explore the literary treasures on display.
Held this year under the theme “Read… In the Beginning Was the Word,” the fair features a mix of local and international publishers presenting a wide array of books across various fields, including literature, history, self-development, and science.

The event is further enriched by cultural activities and workshops tailored for all ages, attracting families and students alike.
Don’t worry if you miss the book in the first week. The fair is running until February 5, hosting a variety of cultural and artistic events featuring prominent Egyptian, Arab, and international authors and intellectuals.
Visitors can enjoy the fair daily from 10 AM to 8 PM, extending to 10 AM to 9 PM on Thursdays and Fridays.

This year, 1,345 publishers and official entities from Egypt, the Arab world, and beyond, representing 80 countries, will participate, alongside 6,150 exhibitors, underscoring the fair's strength and global significance.
Oman is the guest of honor for this year's edition, with Romania and Qatar set to take on this role in the upcoming 57th and 58th editions, respectively.
This reflects the commitment to fostering cultural dialogue with nations around the world.

The Cairo International Book Fair, one of the largest fairs in the Middle East, began in 1969 during Cairo's millennium celebrations and has since evolved to attract millions each year.
The previous edition saw over 550 events and 5,250 exhibitors, drawing around 4.8 million visitors.
