CAIRO - 19 January 2025: Once the Gaza ceasefire agreement came into force at 8:30 a.m. this morning, a total of 95 humanitarian aid trucks entered Karm Abu Salem border crossing to be delivered to the residents of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Al Qahera News Correspondent reported that the 95 trucks carry food, clothing, medical supplies, tents, hygiene supplies and other relief supplies. The trucks set off towards the crossing to begin the verification procedures.

He added that a total of 2000 trucks carrying humanitarian aid and goods on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing are preparing to enter for the people of Gaza.

Under this agreement, 600 truckloads of humanitarian aid are set to be delivered to Gaza daily during the first phase, which spans six weeks. Of these trucks, 50 will carry fuel.

Half of the aid trucks will head to northern Gaza, where a looming famine threatens the population.

The National Alliance for Egyptian Civil Development Action prepared urgent humanitarian and medical aid to meet the needs of the affected families, within the framework of the ceasefire agreement entering into force.

Egypt has readied its hospitals to receive Palestinian patients and the injured through the Rafah border crossing when it opens.

Moreover, the Egyptian Red Crescent is intensifying efforts to deliver huge quantities of humanitarian aid.

The ceasefire deal, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, was announced just this past Wednesday after a year of tireless mediation between Israel and Hamas.
