CAIRO- 30 November 2024: The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration Badr Abdelatty announced Egypt’s strong support for the Syrian state and its national institutions.

 

This was announced during a phone call took place on the evening of November 29 betweenAbdelatty and his Syrian counterpart Bassam Sabbagh.

 

During the call, the two officials discussed the latest developments in northern Syria, particularly in Idlib and Aleppo. Minister Abdelatty listened to Minister Sabbagh’s assessment of the recent events in the region. Abdel Aati expressed concern over the trajectory of these developments.

 

The Egyptian Minister emphasized the importance of these institutions in ensuring stability, combating terrorism, and safeguarding Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

 

Opposition armed groups have launched a surprise offensive against the Pro-regime forces in the two cities of Aleppo and Idlib. The confrontations are still ongoing between the two sides as announced by the Syrian Army on Saturday.
