ALEXANDRIA, Egypt - 24 July 2017: Transportation Minister Hisham Arafat said that about 2,400 kilometers were added to roads with special standards.

During the first session of the fourth National Youth Conference dubbed "Egypt's vision 2030", the minister underlined that the special standards are adding three alleys in each direction, noting that bridges were established on the Nile.

He further reiterated that there is a third stage of the national project for roads which includes 1,700 kilometers.

Arafat underscored that three bridges were finalized on the Nile during the last phase, adding that another five fly-overs are being implemented.

Concerning the railways, the minister said that the railway crossings and stations were developed, adding that his ministry currently targets developing the infrastructure of the railways.
