CAIRO – 23 July 2017: The Head of Population and Family Planning Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Suad Adbul Majid stressed on Wednesday that 650 mobile clinics of family planning have been directed to 3,000 villages across the country to provide women health counseling and free medical services.

All family planning methods are available in all health units and the campaigns of family planning will be intensified in the coming period to warn people of the risks of rising population, said Abdul Majid.

Egypt’s population has witnessed a dramatic increase in the last decade reaching 92.3 million people compared to 72 million in 2006 thereby threatening different fields in Egypt like water supply, education, health and housing, according to a report released by the United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA).

Consequently, the Ministry of Health and Population has provided 5832 fixed and mobile family planning clinics in rural and urban cities.

The Ministry trains the workers in family planning clinics on necessary skills according to international standards.
