CAIRO – 8 April 2024: In his meeting with a Palestinian delegation led by the newly-appointed Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa in Cairo on Monday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt’s staunch rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their lands or the liquidation of the Palestinian issue.

President Sisi, joined by the Palestinian delegation, also cautioned against the ongoing military escalation and the potential spillover of conflict, as per a statement released by the Egyptian Presidency.

Both nations reiterated that a just settlement of the Palestinian issue is pivotal for restoring security and stability in the region.

The meeting delved into Egypt's intensive efforts to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, as well as negotiations for a prisoner swap deal, alongside providing essential humanitarian aid to address the crisis in the Strip.

President Sisi emphasized Egypt's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause until equitable Palestinian rights are secured in an independent, sovereign state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Palestinian Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Egypt's role in facilitating relief aid into the Gaza Strip despite the obstacles and challenges, the statement further noted.

Mustafa conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to President Sisi, commending Egypt's steadfast stance in championing Palestinian rights and its ongoing relentless efforts.
