CAIRO – 4 April 2024: The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its gratitude to the Egyptian authorities for the assistance provided in transporting the wounded Palestinians to the Sultanate of Oman.

In a press release, the Omani ministry affirmed that a group of injured Palestinians arrived in Muscat on Wednesday evening.

Also, 68 aid trucks entered the besieged Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing on Wednesday, according to a daily report released by the Palestinian General Authority for Crossings and Borders.

On April 1, several wounded individuals came from the Gaza Strip for treatment in Egyptian hospitals, according to official data.

A total of 41 wounded individuals and their companions, along with 88 Egyptians residing in Gaza, 300 travelers, a number of foreign residency holders, and 70 students crossed on Monday.

Additionally, nearly 88 trucks crossed the borders, carrying food, medicines, and various supplies.

Planes carrying aid to Gaza continue to land at Al-Arish Airport, where a statement monitoring the movement of aid planes indicated that 720 planes had arrived at Al-Arish Airport since October 12, 2023. Among them, 585 planes transported aid from several Arab and foreign countries, as well as regional and international organizations, and 135 planes transported official delegations and important figures from around the world.

Ahmed al-Sobky, chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare, stated on Sunday that over 35 percent of the necessary surgeries for the injured Palestinians transferred to Egyptian hospitals have already been performed with 100 percent success rate. He noted that 52 percent of the patients were children under 18 years old, and 49 percent were females.

A source in North Sinai also mentioned that over 5,000 injured Palestinians received treatment in 85 Egyptian hospitals, accompanied by around 6,000 family members.
