CAIRO – 26 March 2024: For the tenth year in a row, Egyptians in one of Cairo’s working-class neighborhoods organized the longest Ramadan Iftar [Breakfast] banquet this year nationwide.

The banquet was held in Ezbet Hamada in the Al-Mataria neighborhood in Cairo, with the participation of children, youth and the elderly.

After having their meals, participants chanted for Palestine and voiced their support to the Palestinian cause, saying “We will sacrifice our souls for you, O Palestine.”

The banquet is prepared in mid-Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar during which Muslims fast from dawn to unset, for more than 10,000 people.
