President Sisi Meets with CIA Director

 

CAIRO - 13 February 2024: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with CIA Director William Burns on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel.

 

 

The two leaders discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including regional security, counterterrorism, and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

 

 

El-Sisi and Burns discussed the security situation in the Middle East, with a focus on the ongoing conflict in Libya and the threat posed by the Islamic State group.

 

 

El-Sisi stressed the importance of maintaining stability in the region and preventing the spread of extremism. Burns affirmed the United States' commitment to working with Egypt to achieve these goals.
