CAIRO – 12 February 2024:  Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a session of expanded talks with his Slovenian counterpart Tanja Vajon, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid on Monday.

In a tweet on X, Abu Zeid said that the two top diplomats' talks will focus on bilateral relations and Slovenia's support towards the Palestinian cause.

Shoukry arrived in Slovenia Sunday to lead the Egyptian delegation to the second round of the Joint Ministerial Committee for Economic Cooperation between Egypt and Slovenia at the level of foreign ministers.

Shoukry's visit to Slovenia comes within the framework of the momentum that bilateral relations have witnessed in recent years, especially following the Slovenian president's visit to Egypt in December 2016, as it represented an important milestone in terms of further strengthening cooperation relations between the two sides, he said.
