CAIRO – 8 February 2024: Egypt’s Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has delivered a total of 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza since December, in collaboration with the Catholic Relief Services (CRS), according to state’s news agency MENA on Thursday.

The aid, delivered via 57 trucks, included 12,000 blankets, 11,000 mattresses, 8,000 tents, 3,000 mats, 2,000 plastic rain tarps, as well as public and personal hygiene tools for 2,000 families.

Today, 61 tons of aid arrived in Gaza, provided by the ministry and the CRS.

Since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, Egypt has delivered tens of thousands of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including food and relief materials, coming from the country’s local institutions as well as relief agencies and world countries.

Moreover, Egypt has provided treatment to more than 2,200 Palestinians amid relentless Israeli attacks that have put most hospitals and medical facilities in the strip out of service.

Egyptian doctors have also performed around 1,200 surgeries for Palestinians since the start of the war, according to the Egyptian Presidency on Monday.
