CAIRO – 21 July 2017: The UAE minister of state for foreign affairs Anwar al-Gargash described Friday a recent Qatari decision to amend counter-terrorism law as “positive” step.

“The Qatari decree to amend counter-terrorism law is a positive step to deal seriously with a list of 59 terrorists, the pressure of the crisis pays off and a rational though is to change the course as a whole,” Gargash said on his official Twitter account.

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has issued a decree to amend the country’s anti-terrorism laws. The move comes amid rising tensions between the Gulf state and its neighboring countries over accusations that Doha is funding terrorist groups in the region.
