BEIRUT - 21 July 2017: The Lebanese army on Friday launched an offensive against al Nusra Front militants in the Lebanese town of Arsal.

The offensive was launched through two axes and in many directions toward areas near the Syrian town of Fleita where al Nusra outposts exist.

The shelling targeted gatherings and outposts of al Nusra front in Juroud Arsal and in areas near Fleita town.

Meanwhile, the army blocked all crossings to Arsal town.

As the army recaptures a number of sites, several al Nusra Front militants were reportedly killed and injured during Friday's offensive.
