Egypt's Light Electric Train allocates 1st vehicle for women passengers only

CAIRO - 3 January 2024: The French company operating the light electric train (LRT) in Egypt; the Administrative Capital Train, allocated the first vehicle at the front of the train to women only, in order to provide comfort for train passengers during the trip.
 
The first carriage of the train was allocated for women, it runs towards Badr Station, the City of Arts and Culture Station, and the City of Knowledge station. While the sixth carriage was allocated for women on trips heading to Adly Mansour Station.
 
The route of the light electric train starts from the Adly Mansour Central Interchange Station, parallel to the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road, then branches north after Badr City until the 10th of Ramadan City, and south to the New Administrative Capital, then extends to the International Sports City with a length of 105 km and 19 stations. 
 
The electric train project provides passenger exchange service with the third metro line at Adly Mansour Central Station, and serves the new cities on the Cairo/Ismailia Desert Road, such as Obour, Shorouk, Mostaqbal, and Badr, up to the 10th of Ramadan in the north and the Administrative Capital in the south, to make it easier for citizens to move from Cairo to those cities and vice versa.
 
The light electric train also provides passenger exchange service with the East Nile Monorail (the Administrative Capital) at the Arts and Culture Station in the Administrative Capital, and the express electric train at the Central Capital Station, which ensures the implementation of an integrated transportation network.
 
In this context, a train is available every 10 minutes during peak times in the direction from Adly Mansour station to the stations of the City of Arts and Culture and the City of Knowledge.
 
- Morning peak: starting at 6:30 am until 9:30 am
 
- Evening peak: starting from 1:15 until 5:45
 
 
  As for the return direction to Adly Mansour station, peak times are:
 
 
- Morning: from 7:15 a.m. until 10:55 a.m
 
- Evening: from 2:00 pm until 4:40 pm
 
 
There is a train every 10 minutes from Knowledge City station towards Adly Mansour station.
 
A train will operate every 30 minutes from the City of Arts and Culture station towards Adly Mansour station. 
 
A train will run every 10 minutes from Badr station towards Adly Mansour station.
