CAIRO - 23 December 2023: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received a congratulatory phone call from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi following his victory in the recent presidential elections and his reelection as President of Egypt.

President Sisi appreciated this gesture from his Iranian counterpart. The phone call also delved into discussions about the evolving situation in the Gaza Strip, along with continuing dialogues on addressing outstanding issues between the two nations.

Israeli forces have demolished 25% of civilian homes in Khan Yunis, located in the southern Gaza Strip. The Israeli forces are continuing their incursion into the northern and central parts of the Strip.

The Israeli occupation continues its intense and unprecedented aggression on the Gaza Strip by air, land, and sea, now on its 78th consecutive day. This aggression has resulted in thousands of martyrs and wounded, mostly children and women.

Many martyrs and wounded have yet to be retrieved from under the rubble due to ongoing bombing and the dangerous field conditions, amidst a suffocating siege on the Strip and stringent restrictions on the entry of fuel and urgent vital aid to alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian situation.
