CAIRO - 14 December 2023: Egypt has increased fuel shipments to Gaza by 45%, to 189,000 liters per day, according to Egypt's General Information Authority. The increase is part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, who have been suffering from a humanitarian crisis since the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began on October 7.

In addition to increasing fuel shipments, Egypt has also agreed to open two border crossings with Gaza, Karam Abu Salem and the Rafah crossing. This will allow for the faster and easier delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Since the beginning of the conflict, Egypt has delivered more than 38,600 tons of medical aid, 22,800 tons of food aid, 13,900 tons of water, and 2,220 pieces of tents and candles to Gaza. Egypt has also delivered 5,073 tons of other humanitarian aid, including 48 ambulances.

Egypt has also taken in 773 wounded Palestinians from Gaza for treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

The Egyptian government has said that it will continue to work to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza and to help end the conflict.
