Planes carrying aid to Gaza - file

CAIRO - 13 December 2023: The number of planes received by Al-Arish Airport in North Sinai, carrying international aid for the people of the Gaza Strip, has reached 299 planes since last October 12 until today.
 
The planes transported aid shipments destined for the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian Red Crescent received the shipments and transported them on trucks from Al-Arish to the Rafah crossing to reach the Gaza Strip.
 
The statement of the North Sinai Governorate Operations Room for the movement of receiving air aid shipments explained that the planes the airport received during the past hours were planes coming from: South Africa, Kuwait, Turkey, the Kingdom of Jordan, Brazil, Qatar, France, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and these planes carried ambulances, medical supplies, tents, foodstuffs, children’s clothes, and children’s milk (formula).
 
Al-Arish Airport in North Sinai began receiving aid to Gaza on October 12, and data from the Aid Arrival Monitoring Room showed that the number of aircraft received by the airport reached 299 aircraft, transporting about 8,000 tons of relief materials, food, medicine, medical supplies, tents, field hospitals, and ambulances.
 
Dr. Khaled Zayed, head of the Egyptian Red Crescent branch in North Sinai, said that all aid was received at Al-Arish Airport, and volunteers unloaded its cargo and prepared it for transport to the Rafah crossing to reach the Gaza Strip.
 
The international relief organizations from which the aid planes arrived came from the World Food Organization, UNICEF, the World Health Organization, the Red Cross, a plane from Doctors Without Borders, the European Union, and the United Nations.
 
The countries from which planes transporting aid arrived to Gaza and landed at Al-Arish Airport are: Kuwait, Turkey, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Algeria, Jordan, Iraq, Indonesia, France, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bahrain, England, Brazil, Tunisia, Venezuela, Japan, India, Kenya, Colombia, Malaysia, Greece, Libya, Turkmenistan, Poland, Denmark, Oman, Chechnya, Belgium.
