CAIRO – 11 December 2023: The second day of voting domestically in the 2024 Presidential Election, where four candidates are running, including the incumbent president, kicked off Monday nationwide.

 

9:00 PM: Voting on the 2nd day of the 2024 Presidential election closed at 9:00 PM

8:28 PM : Residents of Arish, Sinai, intensively flock at night outside polling stations, few hours before the end of voting on the 2nd day of the three-day voting in the Presidential Election.

8:23 PM: Voting 45% of eligible people confirms the Egyptian citizen’s awareness of the importance of the constitutional entitlement, said Muhammad Abu Al-Ela, head of the Arab Nasserite Party.

8:20 PM: Engineer Mohamed Rizk, leader of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, said that the participation of 45% of the total voters in the 2024 presidential elections represents a historic victory for Egypt state and reveals the awareness of its people.

8:18 PM: Long queues of voters in Abu Ramad in Halayeb and Shalateen outside a polling station to cast their votes in the 2024 Presidential elections.

7:19 PM: Egyptian Center For Economic Studies – ECES: 45% of eligible voters have cast their ballots as of the middle of the 2nd day of the voting process. This percentage is the highest in the history of previous presidential elections, the Center added, noting that this unprecedented turnout shows Egyptian voter’s awareness that these elections are being held amid political pluralism and guarantees of the integrity of the elections.

7:15 PM: Ahmed Al-Bendari, Director of the Executive Board of the National Elections Authority (NEA) announced that those who cast their votes in the presidential elections as of 12:00 PM on Monday constitute approximately 45% of the total number of eligible voters. He added that somepolling stations ran out of ballot cards due to the high turnout.

The Presidential electoral process went regularly in all polling stations nationwide without any difficulties or obstacles for voters, Al-Bendari said.
