CAIRO – 6 December 2023: Head of the Egyptian State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan stressed that the Israeli endeavors to displace Palestinians, whether internally or outside their lands, lack global support.

“There is no country in the world that supports the Israeli position regarding the displacement of Palestinians,” Rashwan said in TV remarks.

Meanwhile, the Israeli side has not abandoned its endeavors to forcibly displace Palestinians despite its awareness of the Egyptian and Jordanian serious rejection of these attempts, Rashwan said.

He affirmed that forcing Palestinians to flee to southern Gaza poses a threat to the Palestinian cause and Egyptian national security.

Since the Israeli war started in Gaza on 7 October, Egypt and Jordan have warned against Israel’s plans to relocate Gazans to Egypt or Sinai, warning that such move will liquidate the Palestinian cause.

In his speech at “Long Live Egypt: A People’s Response in Solidarity with Palestine” conference in November, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt will not accept or allow the displacement of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to Egypt.

He added that the Egyptian state’s rational and calm statements should not be misunderstood as indicating weakness.

The Palestinian issue faces a ‘very sensitive situation’ by a party that used ‘collective punishment’ as a mean to displace the people and seize their land, Sisi said. He added that “the killing machine” in Gaza started to act “without conscience or reason” until it became a disgrace to all of humanity.
