CAIRO - 2 December 2023: Egyptians residing in Australia continued to flock to the polling stations at diplomatic missions on Saturday for the second consecutive day to cast their votes in the 2024 presidential elections.

Embassies and consulates of Egypt worldwide followed suit by opening their doors at 9:00 AM local time for voters keen on exercising their constitutional rights and participating in shaping Egypt's future while supporting its stability.

On Friday, Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad witnessed a significant turnout during the first day of voting in the 2024 presidential elections. Voters, carrying Egyptian flags in a celebratory atmosphere, emphasized their support for the Egyptian state and its institutions, highlighting the necessity of continuing the development and stability journey.

During the initial voting day, Egyptians abroad conveyed heartfelt messages reflecting their close ties to national issues and challenges.

Earlier, Ahmed Bandary, the Executive Director of the National Election Authority, stated that there is continuous communication between the authority and Egyptian embassies and consulates to ensure the absence of technical obstacles.

In a press statement, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry urged Egyptians abroad to turn out in large numbers at Egyptian missions to exercise their constitutional rights and express their will at the ballot boxes, emphasizing that citizens' participation in public life is a constitutional right and national duty guaranteed by the constitution.

Shoukry commended the coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Election Authority, expressing gratitude to the authority for providing all the necessary support to ensure the ease and safety of the electoral process in our missions abroad.
