CAIRO – 1 December 2023: Egypt expressed on Friday regret over the collapse of humanitarian truce and renewal of fierce Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip that left many civilians dead.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry considered what is now taking place in the Strip a serious setback, denouncing the indifference showed by the Israeli side to all efforts that have been exerted over the past few days to extend the truce in a bid to stem the bloodshed and let more humanitarian assistance into the Strip.

Egypt warned of the grave consequences of expanding the Israeli military operations in southern Gaza Strip and calls by Israeli officials to encourage displacement of Palestinians outside Gaza in a clear violation of the international humanitarian law especially Geneva Conventions and its obligations as an occupying power.

Egypt renewed its rejection of the forcible displacement of Palestinians outside their territories, saying this is a red line.

Egypt also renewed call on the influential international sides and the Security Council to shoulder their responsibilities towards the protection of Palestinian civilians in Gaza and put an end to schemes aiming at forcing Palestinians out of their lands
