FM Shoukry receives phone calls from his Cypriot, Norwegian, Irish counterparts

CAIRO – 7 November 2023: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received phone calls from his Cypriot, Norwegian, and Irish counterparts Constantinos Kombos, Espen Barth Eide, and Micheál Martin respectively.

Shoukry's phone calls with his three counterparts dealt with the situation in the embattled Gaza Strip.

Shoukry also discussed the deteriorating humanitarian and security conditions due to the ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.

The phone calls also tackled coordinating efforts of international parties to contain the repercussions of the crisis, and prevent further spirals of violence.

Shoukry further emphasized the importance of attaining ceasefire and ending the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The ministers agreed on the need of continuing consultations over the upcoming days to support efforts aiming to contain the current crisis.
