President Sisi, Canadian PM Trudeau review Gaza Strip escalations

CAIRO – 6 November 2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi received a phone call from the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.

President Sisi and Prime Minister Trudeau exchanged views with regard to the developments in the Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip.

The President stressed the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and ending the unprecedented human suffering of the people of Gaza. The President highlighted Egypt's efforts to provide and coordinate aid to the people of the Gaza Strip and intensive contacts with all parties to overcome obstacles and hindrances that face the delivery of aid.

Trudeau expressed his appreciation and affirmed his country’s readiness to enhance its contribution to humanitarian relief efforts.

President Sisi and Prime Minister Trudeau agreed to stress the importance of the entry of humanitarian aid to provide relief to the people of the Gaza Strip, in tandem with the need to relaunch the political path towards a two-state solution.
