CAIRO – 24 October 2023: Israeli non-stop shelling on the Gaza Strip will turn it into a mass grave, said Head of Egypt's State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan in a press conference on Tuesday.

He added that Egypt has not and will not spare any effort to ensure the opening of the Rafah border crossing to allow the entry of all humanitarian and food aid to the Gaza Strip, noting that 54 trucks have entered since Saturday and it is expected that another 20 trucks will enter on Tuesday.

“As of Monday, a total of 457 tons of medical supplies, 251 tons of food, and 87 tons of water have entered Gaza Strip,” he said.

"Egypt is intensifying its consultations to ensure sustainable delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip,” he continued.

The Israeli plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians are rejected, and Egypt's borders “are a red line,” he said, adding “Egypt has never completely abandoned the Palestinian crisis.”

Thirty-nine planes carrying aid for Gaza have arrived in Egypt from other countries, Rashwan added, saying that

“Egypt believes that ending the crisis in Palestine is through a two-state solution."
