Veteran politician Hamdeen Sabahi says he supports official Egyptian stance on Gaza

Cairo – 20 October 2023: Veteran politician Hamdeen Sabahi, affirmed on Friday his support for the Egyptian official stance that calls for opening the Rafah border crossings, rejecting displacement and resettlement in Sinai, demanding the immediate stop of the war and condemning Israeli’s brutality.

In a video-statements during his participation at the pro-Palestinian protests on Friday Sabahi said that the US administration have always been biased. However, “this time they are really rude and laiers.”

 Sabahi said: “It is not appropriate for this world that the president of one of the most powerful countries in the world, to be a liar and complicit in shedding the blood of patients in hospitals. But anyway, this is not new.”

He noted that the US and the ‘colonial powers’ are the ones who planted this ‘Israeli entity’ in the region, and ‘they are the ones protecting it now’.

Sabahi praised the Egyptian people stance, who took to streets expressing their support for the Palestinian people in Gaza.  

“The masses of Egypt, who stand today in the streets, as do all the masses of the Arab world and all those who have a conscience in the world, express a decisive position with Palestine and its right to defend its land from occupation and against brutality.

The Egyptian popular stance is great one. The people are ‘the teacher’, and they prove that fact every day.” Sabahi said.

He added: “We support the Egyptian official stance in opening the crossings, in rejecting displacement and resettlement in Sinai, we support the Egyptian stance in demanding the immediate stop of the war and we support it in condemning Israeli’s brutality.”
