CAIRO – 20 October 2023: Speaker of Egypt’s House of Representatives Hanafi El-Gebaly affirmed Egypt’s rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, saying that this will lead to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.

In a speech at the 35th Arab Parliamentary Union Emergency Conference in Baghdad, Gebaly said the heinous crime of targeting Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza clearly demonstrates the extent of the Israeli occupation’s criminality and adds a new crime to its shameful record.

The crimes of the Israeli occupation will not be forgotten and are imprescriptible, he added.

Israel, who has launched unrelenting airstrikes against the Gaza Strip, caused a new tragedy on Tuesday after killing hundreds in a massive blast at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital that was sheltering thousands of people when it was bombed.

The Israeli crime has triggered outrage across the world. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced today a three-day period of national mourning to honor the innocent victims of the heinous attack on the hospital.

Since the start of the conflict early in October, Egypt has reiterated rejection of Israeli plans to forcibly displace Palestinians toward Sinai, warning that this will liquidate the Palestinian cause.

In a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Sisi on Wednesday, Sisi stressed Egypt's unwavering support to the Palestinian people and rejection of Israeli plans to displace Gazans to Sinai.

Sisi said millions of Egyptian people are ready to protest any plans to displace the Palestinian people from Gaza.

Sisi added that in case Israel has the notion to displace the Palestinians in Gaza until the end of military operations against the armed factions, then Israel can host them in Negev Desert.

Many protests were organized in Egypt over the past few days to reject the Israeli aggression.

The area around the Unknown Soldier Memorial in Cairo’s Nasr City also prepares to receive a massive number of Egyptian protesters after the Friday prayers to support Sisi’s rejection of Palestinians displacement.
