CAIRO – 19 October 2023: Palestine's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Mohannad Aklouk, affirmed his country's support for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's rejection of the Israeli plan to displace Gaza residents.

In remarks to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), Aklouk emphasized that this plan aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause, considering it a red line that cannot be crossed.

He commended Egypt's consistent and significant role in supporting the Palestinian cause and halting Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

Aklouk expressed Palestine’s hope that Egypt would exercise its influential role and weight in the political, economic, and diplomatic spheres to cease the bloodshed and Israeli massacres currently taking place in Palestine.

He stressed that the Palestinian people have always relied on Egypt as the primary supporter in halting attacks against them and preserving the Palestinian cause and its constants.

The ambassador also affirmed that Israel has committed various crimes, including ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, and genocide, calling on the international community to intervene immediately to halt these crimes.

Aklouk emphasized the rejection of the Israeli plan to displace the Palestinian people from their land and repeat the scenario of the 1948 Nakba.

"The situation in Palestine has surpassed double standards and … has reached a racist vision," the ambassador said, expressing his belief that this racist vision has been imposed on the international community through Israeli claims.

“This racist vision considers it acceptable to kill a Palestinian child, shed Palestinian blood, burn and demolish Palestinian homes and dwellings, while if the same were to happen to the Israeli occupation state, we would witness a storm of condemnation from the West and Israel,” he explained.

He accused the international community of violating the human rights conventions, United Nations charters and the principles of non-impunity.

“As we mark 75 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, there is a major betrayal of human rights conventions by remaining silent about the genocide taking place in Palestine,” the ambassador stressed.
