CAIRO - 11 October 2023: Means to supply stranded Palestinians in Gaza Strip with regular services and relief were discussed Wednesday by the foreign minister Sameh Shoukry and UN officials in Cairo.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received Tor Wensland, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, and Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, and had a “lengthy discussion” on protecting civilians in the Mediterranean enclave, according to a tweet by spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abu Zeid.

Rafah Border Crossing between Egypt and Gaza is now the only gateway for aid to the Palestinians. Israel has closed all other crossings and also strikes locations close to the Egyptian crossing, disrupting the supply process.
